2008 Derby Winter Festival a Cultural Success!

Community Enterprise held its annual Derby Winter Festival Friday, December 12th in downtown Derby.  This was the most successful Derby Winter Festival to date with over 1,000 attendees.  Community Enterprise was able to give away 100 free Christmas Trees to deserving families all of which were sponsored by local businesses.  This year, Community Enterprise partnered with One Community making the event much more of a cultural event by offering piñatas, multi-nationally themed arts and crafts stations for the kids, and even then annual art competition between local schools had an international them.  For pictures or more information, head over to the Derby Winter Festival page.

Walkability Celebration to Honor Volunteer Efforts

Community Enterprise along with LiveWell Commerce City held a Walkability Celebration Tuesday, January 7th at the Werth Manor in Commerce City.  The goal of the celebration was to invite everyone who has participated in the walkabilities over the last several years and give back initial feedback on what was discovered.  Six major themes emerged: lack of places to walk to, aesthetic issues, safety, sidewalks, cars, and dogs.  Community Enterprise hopes to start a community coalition to start addressing these issues with help from the residents who attended.  For more information, check out the Walkabilities Page under programs (coming soon).
